Foodie Friday – Banana & Peanut Butter Bickkies

Loving Foodie Friday and also loving that toddler doesn’t seem to be eating as many bananas at the moment so mum is getting creative with the bananas in Foodie Friday. Also love that banana recipes tend to also involve peanut butter… yummo! So this Foodie Friday 1st World Dog Treat is Banana & Peanut Butter Bickkies…. also another veggie one for Ruby’s owners to bake up. Hopefully with some specific Ruby baked goods they might be able to avoid other incidents (love reading about the trouble Ruby gets herself into). So let’s get on with the recipe….

What you will need to get out of the cupboard and fridge:

A couple of ripe (over ripe perfectly fine) bananas… we used 2.

2 tablespoons of peanut butter.

About a cup of flour.

A dash of oil.

A dash of water.

What you do with the stuff:

Turn the oven on to preheat at about 160oC (our oven is fan forced so alternatively you may want to do it a might higher… and keep those paws and your snout away from the oven door…. especially when it is open… it may be tempting but it isn’t good for soft puppy skin… ps my poor paws are not due to an oven incident as much as I do supervise closely).

Mash up the bananas.

Add the peanut butter and mix them together.

Add the flour and mix some more.

Add the dash of oil and mix some more.

Finally add the water. Do this a little at a time until you get a consistency that is easy to mix but not too runny (if you get a bit runny than add a bit more flour).

Put some baking paper on a tray and poor the mixture out. Flatten it so it is about 1.5cm high using the back of the spoon.

Now very important.… once finish the last step place bowl in corner, discovered much easier when bowl isn’t moving around, for cleaning.

Will take about 15mins to cook and should be still slightly springy to touch when it is ready, but not soft that your paw falls in or you get mixture tuck on your paw.

Pull it out, wait for eat to cool and then cut into whatever shapes you like. At this point you could get fancy with little bone shapes but mum plans on using this for training so I get little squares.
